We Gather in Eden

“We Gather in Eden” explores the spiritual connection

I find in nature as my own walk with self healing. We Gather in Eden is

to find the peace that enables us to endure and the joy that makes life worth living. Peeling back the metaphorical layers of self to expose our vulnerabilities as we process, and move forward through our own pain, through our own experiences.

Nature being key to my own walk it brings me to a place where I want to explore my own version of Eden.

What would it look like?

What would it sound like?

I am exploring these questions with the use of color and composition. To be completely enveloped in these floral scapes brings me to my center. Nature like creating guides me to a more capable, healed self.

You will find in this series that the full body is never fully exposed.

This allows the model to keep parts of them to themselves. Especially in a world where Black and people of color are constantly consumed in our entirety, and often without our consent.

This work focuses on the collective journey for peace.

What it could feel like to experience true safety, both within ourselves and our surrounding spaces?

How would it feel to exist, liberated from trauma?
